William Henry (Harry) Orr M Arch RIBA (1939-2016) was born in Downpatrick and studied architecture in Belfast, Edinburgh and Rome.
He won the RIBA/RSUA Rome Scholarship, the Sir Charles Lanyon Prize for Measured Drawing and an Andrew Grant Travelling Scholarship to Spain. He worked in Edinburgh, London and Belfast before his appointment as resident architect for King Idris’s Sports City in Libya. From there he moved to Saudi Arabia before his appointment as lecturer at the Chulalongkorn University Faculty of Architecture in Bangkok. This exhibition celebrates the life and works of William (Harry) Orr.
